Pune: Container Accident Near Lonavala Causes Cargo Spill, Injures Driver
Kamshet, 17th July 2024: An accident occurred on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway near Lonavala, involving two containers traveling from Mumbai towards Pune. One container driver lost control, resulting in a collision with the other container.
Due to the accident, one container carrying goods spilled its cargo onto the opposite side of the road, affecting traffic from Pune to Mumbai. There were no fatalities. The incident took place in Khamshet today at around 6 PM.
According to Police Inspector Ravindra Patil of Kamshet Police Station, the container coming from Mumbai lost control and collided with another container carrying goods. The goods fell onto the opposite side of the road. Initially, traffic was disrupted on both sides, but it was cleared.
One container was carrying sacks of some powder material, while the other was empty. One of the drivers is injured and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
