Pune: Community Clinics Run By PCMC Will Begin By End Of August

Pimpri, 27th July 2022: By the end of August month, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) plans to establish at least 10 community clinics.

These facilities, referred to as ‘Jijau clinics,’ would offer health services to those who live in highly populated areas and reduce the load on the civic organization’s main Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital in Pimpri.

According to PCMC commissioner Rajesh Patil, the clinics’ contracting procedure is still in progress.

Vikas Dhakane, the PCMC’s additional commissioner, “The locations of the community clinics have been decided, and we have hired a consultant. Ten units will start during phase 1.”

According to Dhakane, Chikhali is one among the places that needs such facilities.

Around eight civic hospitals, including the tertiary care centre at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, are currently run by the PCMC. Community clinics were suggested by PCMC commissioner Rajesh Patil in the budget for 2022–2023.
