The J.P. Trivedi Memorial Trust’s Madhukant Amulakh Hostel is located in the Ghole Road area of Shivajinagar. The incident occurred on 15th March when Ajay and his friend were using the hostel’s malfunctioning lift. Security guard Surve allegedly failed to provide proper guidance when the lift malfunctioned, and Ajay sustained fatal injuries after being advised to jump. Investigations revealed that hostel rector Motiwala had not ensured adequate training for security guards to handle such situations. Ajay’s father, Ashok, subsequently pressed charges against the hostel officials. Police Sub Inspector Bade from Shivajinagar Police Station is overseeing the investigation.
