Pune, 31st May 2024: Pune District Collector Dr Suhas Diwase has found himself embroiled in controversy, with Khed Sub Divisional Officer Jogendra Katyare and Assistant Election Officer complaining to the Election Commission of India (ECI). Katyare alleges that Dr Diwase is succumbing to political pressure and should be transferred before the Lok Sabha election vote counting, drawing parallels with the plot of the web series “Aspirants.”

In his complaint, Sub Divisional Officer Jogendra Katyare makes serious accusations against IAS Suhas Diwase, alleging that he is working under the influence of Khed Alandi MLA Dilip Mohite, causing significant chaos. According to Katyare, “Dr. Suhas Diwase is working under the pressure of MLA of Khed Alandi. Diwase has held various positions in Pune district, including agriculture commissioner, sports commissioner, and PMRDA director, and has aligned his actions with political interests.”

Katyare continues, citing instances of Diwase’s alleged subservience to the MLA’s influence, such as initiating inquiries into land acquisition cases and conducting raids on Tehsil offices under the purported sway of the MLA. He claims that Diwase’s constant interactions with the MLA during the elections indicate their close relationship, which has reportedly existed since the start of Diwase’s administrative career.

Jogendra Katyare, currently serving as Khed-Rajgurunagar Sub Divisional Officer and Assistant Election Officer, brings attention to the MLA’s suspected involvement without directly naming anyone, pointing to Dilip Mohite from NCP (Ajit Pawar) as the likely candidate due to his role as the MLA of the Khed Alandi Vidhan Sabha constituency. Katyare asserts that the MLA’s influence over Dr Diwase compromises the integrity of the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections, necessitating Diwase’s replacement for an impartial environment.

Psychometric Career Assessment Test

The complaint to the ECI raises questions about the actions the commission will take in response to Katyare’s letter, amplifying public interest in the matter and its potential implications.
