Closing Ceremony Marks Completion Of Technical Training Of The First Batch Of Agniveer Vaayu At Pune Air Force Station

Lohegaon, 5th August 2023: Technical training of the first batch of Agniveer Vaayu was completed at the Pune Air Force Station in Lohegaon.

A total of 377 candidates also called Agniveer Vayu participated in the training program and a closing ceremony was organised at the Air Force Station, Pune which was presided by Air Officer Commanding Air Commodore Shekhar Yadav.

The government last year announced recruitment in the Indian Armed Forces through Agnipath Scheme under which the recruits below the rank of commissioned officers will be called Agniveers and they will be recruited for the period of four years tenure. The Air Force recruits under the scheme are called Agniveer Vayu.

Earlier in June this year, the training of the first batch of the Agniveer Vayu was completed and a valedictory ceremony was held at the Airmen Training School Belagavi where a total of 2,675 trainees successfully completed 22 weeks of training.
