Pune, 3rd August 2024: The Vadgaon Maval Civil Court, presided over by Senior Civil Judge Rahul Shinde, has rejected a claim by actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini to cancel the purchase deed of land in Maval taluka, Pune district.

The claim was initially filed by Malachaya Natavani Kelela, the original owner’s grandson, who sought to invalidate the sale of the land made in 1985.

Dharmendra Deol and his wife, Hema Malini, had purchased the land from Shrikant Khire in 1985. The land, initially sold to Khire by Vasant Mankar, Shivaji Mankar, and Yamunabai Jambhulkar, was later sold to the actors. The claim to cancel the purchase deed was filed by Kisan Mankar, the grandson of the original owner, arguing that the sale was invalid.

Advocates Amit Rathi, Raju Shinde, and Aditya Jadhav represented Dharmendra and Hema Malini in court. Advocate Rathi argued that the claim was invalid due to the significant passage of time, noting that the original sale occurred in 1985 and no legal action was taken until 37 years later. He stated, “The original owner was aware of the purchase deed in 1985, yet no legal process was initiated at that time. This claim, filed after such a long period, is merely a tactic.”

The land in question was sold to Khire on June 12, 1985, and subsequently, Dharmendra and Hema Malini signed an agreement to purchase the land from Khire. The court found that the sale deed in favor of Khire was legitimate and not fabricated, as claimed by the plaintiff’s side.

After considering arguments from both sides, the court ruled in favor of Dharmendra and Hema Malini, thereby upholding the validity of their purchase deed.
