Pune City: 1577 New COVID Cases, 33 Deaths Reported Today
Pune, Aug 22, 2020: In the last 24 hours, a total of 1427 people were discharged from hospitals after recovery from Coronavirus disease (COVID19) in Pune city today. Also, 1577 new patients were detected while 33 people died today. Today swab samples of 6891 people were collected for COVID tests.
According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 82,170 out of which 65,346 have been cured while 1950 have died. There are still 14,874 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 804 critical patients out of which 488 are on ventilator support.
Across Maharashtra, 9,241 people got discharged from hospitals while 14,492 new cases and 297 deaths were reported today. The total number of COVID cases has reached 6,61,942 out of which 4,80,114 people have recovered and 21,995 have died. There are 1,69,516 active cases.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 2,975,701 across the country. Out of this, 2,222,577 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 55,794 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 6,97,330 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
