Pune: CCTV Captures Robbery At Wine Shop, Five Persons Caught

Pune, 22nd November 2023: The officials from Uttam Nagar police station, Pune City Police, have nabbed five persons responsible for a robbery at RR Wines Shop in Shivane Uttamnagar on the night of November 19, 2023. The robbers had looted Rs 3.09 lakh cash and liqour worth Rs 3,300.

Following a complaint filed by Manoj More, a worker at RR Wines shop, Uttam Nagar police initiated an immediate investigation. Two separate teams were formed to track down the suspects. Authorities suspected that individuals with prior criminal records might be behind the incident, given the precision of the robbery.

On November 21, 2023, a joint investigation team from Uttam Nagar Police Station and Sinhagad Road Police Station detained five individuals from Dhayari, Manikbagh, and Sinhagad Road areas. The suspects were found in possession of country-made pistols, sword, and the stolen money amounting to 3 lakh 90 thousand. Additionally, a cash sum of Rs 32,800 was seized.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that four of the five arrested individuals were minors. They were presented before the Juvenile Court, while Tejas Rahul Pimpalgaonkar, aged 19, of Sinhagad Road, Pune, was produced before the First Class Magistrate Court No. 03 Pune. Pimpalgaonkar has been remanded to police custody until November 25.

The action was taken under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Suhail Sharma, ACP (Kothrud Division) Bhimrao Tele and Senior Police Inspector Kiran Balwadkar. The team included Sub-Inspector Dadaraje Pawar, Sub-Inspector Umesh Rokade, and Police Constables Sameer Pawar, Tushar Kindre, Dnyaneshwar Todkar, Dattatraya Malusare, and Pramod Kumadkar.
