Pune: Cash And Goods Worth Rs 3.6 Crore Looted On Pune-Solapur Highway

Pune, 27th August 2022: An incident took place in Varkute Budruk village on the Pune-Solapur National Highway in the early hours of Friday (August 26) morning when six persons fired on a four-wheeler and looted goods and cash worth Rs three crore and 60 lakh 26 thousand from a car. Fortunately, no one was injured in this and a case has been registered against six people at the Indapur police station.

In this regard, Bhaveshkumar Amrit Patel (40), a native of Kahoda, district Mehsana, Gujarat, currently residing at Pancharatna Building, Mumbai has filed a complaint.

 

The information given by Police Inspector Prabhakar More is that the complainant Patel was going to Pune from Pune Solapur-National Highway in his car. At that time, after the car slowed down near the traffic stop near Varkute Pati in the limits of Varkute Budruk village, four unidentified persons asked the complainant to stop the car, showing an iron rod in his hand. Hence, the complainant increased the speed of the car.

 

Seeing this, the robbers started chasing Patel’s car from another car. After it was seen that the complainant was not stopping the car, the accused fired bullets at his car and blocked the car on the road. The four robbers got down from the car and beat the complainant and his companion with their hands.

After that, they looted a total of Rs 3 crore 60 lakh from the complainant’s car, Rs 14 thousand from the complainant and two mobile phones worth Rs 12 thousand. Meanwhile, two more unidentified persons were sitting in the car.

 

Further investigation is going on in the case.
