Pune: Case Registered Against MSEDCL Officials For Harassing Disabled Woman Clerk

Pune, 10th November 2023: A case has been registered against three individuals, including Superintendent Engineer Prakash Kursunge, for allegedly molesting a disabled woman employee of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). The accused have been identified as Superintending Engineer Prakash Kursunge, Snehal Bondre, and Vikas Dhware. The victim, a disabled woman working as a clerk in the Rasta Peth office of MSEDCL, filed a complaint at Samarth Police Station.

The complaint outlines that Superintendent Engineer Kursunge initiated harassment by scrutinizing the woman’s work and pointing out mistakes. Exploiting her disability, he reportedly threatened to transfer her to another office and engaged in inappropriate behaviour. Additionally, co-workers Bondre and Dhware expressed animosity towards the disabled woman, subjecting her to further harassment.

The situation escalated when Dhware allegedly sprinkled an itching powder on the woman’s chair, causing her physical discomfort. The victim endured both verbal and physical harassment in the workplace. Assistant Police Inspector Patil is overseeing the investigation into this disturbing case.
