Pune: Camp essential shops open on Friday, complete shutdown on May 16, 17

Pune, May 14, 2020: Due to the rising number of Coronavirus positive patients in Pune Cantonment area, there will be a complete shutdown for two days on May 16 and 17. However, tomorrow is Friday, the essential commodities shops have been allowed to open for four hours. Therefore, should buy necessary items for the next two days. The number of COVID cases has reached 103 in Pune Cantonment area.

Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) CEO Amit Kumar today issued a notice, “Shops of grocery, vegetables, milk etc will be allowed to be opened from 10 am to 2 pm on 15th May, Friday. In view of the increasing number of COVID 19 positive cases in the Cantonment area particularly in Bhimpura, New Modikhana and nearby areas, it has been decided to observe 2 days complete lockdown in the Pune Cantonment area on 16th  & 17th May.

The lockdown is being implemented in the containment zones and micro-containment zones to contain further spread of the virus. Only medical shops will be allowed to remain open from 10 am to 1 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm on 16th & 17th May. The police department is required to ensure implementation of the same, while the general public is requested to follow total lockdown strictly. Police Department is required to make necessary arrangements for the supply of essential services like milk and vegetables during lockdown period.”
