Pune 4th July 2023: A call mistakenly dialled to a police control room of Pune City Police on by a child from Lohegaon on Sunday had put the police administration on alert as the caller was heard saying “A bomb exploded in Lohegaon!”. The call got disconnected before the police could gather more information.

 

Taking the matter seriously, the police rushed to the scene, quickly gathering details about the caller. However, upon reaching there, they stumbled upon a different scene. A seven-year-old boy was found playing with a mobile phone.

 

With further investigation, they realized that the boy accidentally dialed the Police Control Room while playing with his father’s mobile phone. Police said that the Control Room received a call, and specialized units like the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and Airport Police were mobilized for investigation.

 

During the technical analysis of the call, it was traced to the building where construction work was ongoing for a CBSE school in Lohegaon. The seriousness of the situation arose due to the presence of sensitive areas like the airport and other vulnerable locations in the vicinity.

 

As the police conducted a thorough inspection of the construction site, they found the missing seven-year-old boy at a labor camp near the building. His mother had gone to work, leaving him unattended for a short time. However, the boy had accidentally called the Police Control Room while playing with his father’s phone. When the call was received, some utensils fell on the floor at their home, making it seem like a serious situation to the police personnel at Control Room.
