Pune Businessman Attacked Over Donation Dispute For Ganeshotsav

Pune, 2nd September 2022: A businessman, Chandrakant Ramakrishna More (age 44 years), was attacked and seriously injured with an axe and a stone due to a dispute for donation for Ganesh Chaturthi at Ahire Gate in Uttamnagar police limits. Jeevan Suresh Pawar and Darshan Ramesh Pawar have been arrested.

According to the police, on 30th August 2022, Jeevan Suresh Pawar (age 20) and Darshan Ramesh Pawar argued with Chandrakant Ramchandra More regarding the donation for Ganpati. Furious at Ramchandra, both the accused went to the prosecutor’s office at Morya Residency, Shivane, on 1st September 2022 at 10.10 am. They tried to kill him by hitting him on the head with an axe and a stone.

Chandrakant More was seriously injured in this incident and is undergoing treatment in a private hospital. On getting information about the incident, Assistant Commissioner of Police Rukmini Galande and her team rushed to the spot and arrested the accused. Cases have been filed against them. Police Inspector Arjun Botre is investigating further.
