Pune, 14th September 2024: On 17th September, i.e., Ananta Chaturdashi, major Ganesh Mandals in Pune will perform Ganesh idol immersion (visarjan). People from across the Pune District and beyond come to witness the grand processions of Ganesh Mandals on this important day. As a result, several major roads are closed to traffic each year. In light of this, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced temporary changes for passengers.

The changes are as follows:

– The PMPML bus, which usually departs daily from Shahu Maharaj Stand (Swargate) and travels via Satara Road to Katraj and Market Yard, will now depart from Laxminarayan Theatre Chowk.
– The PMPML bus, which usually departs from Natraj Bus Stand towards the Sinhagad Road area, will now depart from Parvati Paytha (Swami Samarth Math) Bus Stand.
– The PMPML bus, which departs from Swargate and travels towards Pulgate and Hadapsar via Solapur Road, will now leave from Vega Centre Bus Stand, near Swargate.
– The PMPML bus, which departs from Swargate towards Bhavani Peth, Nana Peth, and Rasta Peth, will also leave from the Vega Centre Bus Stand.
– The PMPML bus, which departs from Deccan Gymkhana Bus Stand towards Kothrud Depot, Malwadi, and NDA Gate, will now depart from SNDT College Bus Stand.

These changes will be implemented on the day of Ganesh Visarjan, as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road, Bajirao Road, Laxmi Road, Tilak Road, Karve Road, and other main roads will be closed to bus traffic. These are temporary adjustments to bus routes to ensure minimal inconvenience for PMPML passengers.
