Pune: Builder Threatened To Pay Rs 1.80 Crore Over Case Of Caste Abuse

Mundhwa, 22nd December 2022: The Deccan Police has registered a case against four persons for demanding extortion of Rs 1.80 crore from a builder by threatening to file a case of caste abuse.

In this regard, a case has been registered against Rajan Nair, his wife, Sagai Rajan Nair, a resident of Dhayarkar Colony, Mundhwa and two others. The builder has lodged a complaint at Deccan Police Station.

The office of the complainant builder is in the Bhandarkar Road area. A house project was being worked on by a builder in the Mundhwa area. The accused demanded money from the builder. They protested in front of the builder’s office.

Rs 1.80 crore was demanded from the builder. After the builder refused to pay, the accused threatened to file a case of caste abuse. Nair and his accomplices had put up posters against the builder.

After the builder complained, the police investigated and registered a case. Assistant Police Inspector Kalyani is investigating.
