Pune, 19th April 2025: Several parts of Pune witnessed extreme heat on Friday, with temperatures crossing the 40°C mark in many areas. Lohgaon recorded the highest temperature at a blistering 42.9°C, making it the hottest spot in the city.

Other areas also reported severe heat, with Shivajinagar logging 40.5°C, Pashan 40.4°C, and Magarpatta touching 40°C. Chinchwad wasn’t far behind, recording a maximum of 39.2°C.

Even Lavale, which recorded a relatively lower temperature of 38.8°C, experienced high discomfort levels due to 100% relative humidity. The combination of heat and moisture made conditions particularly oppressive for residents in the area.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised citizens to limit sun exposure during peak hours and stay hydrated to prevent heat-related illnesses.

IMD has also predicted cloudy weather post-afternoon from April 21, which is expected to provide some relief.
