Pune: Blue Ridge Hinjawadi Residents Launch ‘Save Mula River Initiative’ to Combat Pollution

Hinjawadi, 17th April 20204: Residents of Blue Ridge in Hinjawadi have launched the “Save Mula River Initiative” in response to increasing concerns over pollution in the Mula River. The initiative aims to raise awareness and advocate for cleaner waterways, as the river’s condition has deteriorated significantly despite being a vital water source for the community.

A peaceful march and chain fasting event are planned for Saturday, April 20th, at 10 AM to emphasize the urgent need for action. The event will draw attention to the pollution affecting the Mula River, which serves as the only water source for Blue Ridge.

Participants will gather in the society coming together in solidarity to protect this essential resource. The initiative emphasizes the importance of preserving the Mula River for both present and future generations.

Residents are encouraged to join the movement and support efforts to protect the Mula River from further pollution. The initiative promotes, “Together, we can work towards ensuring clean and sustainable waterways for our community.”

A resident of Blue Ridge in Hinjawadi shared with Punekar News, “This coming weekend, Saturday, 20th April, we will gather near unit A yoga lawn at  9:30 AM to spread awareness specifically about our Mula River pollution. Approximately 400 people will participate in the event. This is a mutual initiative among residents without any specific leadership. This is a silent march with no protest against any authority. This event will also involve chain hunger strike to express our solidarity with river rejuvenation and encourage fight against river pollution.”
