Pune, 9th May 2023: The demand for tax exemption on director Sudipto Sen’s film ‘The Kerala Story’ in Maharashtra has been made by BJP city president Jagdish Mulik.

In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Mulik emphasized the importance of showcasing the reality depicted in the film and raising awareness among the public.

Highlighting the film’s premise, Mulik stated, “The film portrays a true incident where girls mysteriously disappeared in Kerala and were subsequently converted and recruited by the terrorist organization ‘ISIS.’ It is crucial to create awareness among the general public regarding this issue. To facilitate broader viewership, I urge that ‘The Kerala Story’ be granted tax exemption in Maharashtra.”

The film addresses a sensitive subject and aims to shed light on the harsh realities surrounding the disappearance and recruitment of young girls. Mulik believes that by making the film tax-free, it would encourage a larger audience to watch and gain insights from the story.
