Pune: Bihari Worker Shot Dead Outside Home By Unidentified Assailant, Police Searching For Accused
Ghorpade Peth, 30th October 2023: An unidentified assailant entered the flat of a migrant worker in the dead of night and shot him dead in Ghorpade Peth, Pune. The police are investigating the brazen attack, and as of now, the motive behind the murder remains unclear.
The deceased has been identified as Anil Sahu, a 35-year-old resident of Khadakmal Ali, Ghorpade Peth. Originally hailing from Darbhanga district in Bihar, Sahu worked as a craftsman. He, along with his wife, rented a flat in a building in the Sinhagad Garage Chowk area of Khadakmal Ali at 89, Ghorpade Peth.
The incident occurred around 2 am when the assailant approached the second-floor flat of Shri Krishna Heights building. Anil’s cousin, Ghurankumar Haridev Sahu (24), answered the door, and upon inquiry, the assailant inquired about Anil in Hindi. Ghurankumar informed Anil and went inside the kitchen. Recounting the incident, Ghurankumar stated in the FIR registered at Khadak police station, “I saw them talking, and soon the assailant put the pistol to his head, shot him, and fled. His accomplice was waiting on a bike outside our building near Shrimant Suvarnbharat Mitramandal.”
Anil, critically injured in the shooting, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries before receiving treatment.
Upon getting information about the incident, senior police officers visited the scene. The motive behind Sahu’s murder is yet to be determined, and the police are searching for the assailant.
