Pune: Bhondu Baba’s ‘Paise Ki Barish’ Promise to Convert Rs 18 Lakh into Rs 5 Crore Leads to Builder’s Deception; FIR Registered
Hadapsar, 4th December 2023: In a bizarre case of fraud, the Hadapsar police have filed charges against four individuals, including Bhondu Baba, for an alleged scam involving the conversion of Rs 18 lakhs into Rs 5 crores. The incident took place a month ago on Sasane Nagar, Kale Padal Road.
A 43-year-old man from Hadapsar has filed a complaint detailing the deceptive scheme. A case has been registered by the police against the suspects Bhondubaba Ayra Shab, Madhuri More, Rocky Vaidya (all of Badlapur, Thane), Kishore Pandagale (Uttamnagar, Warje Malwadi, Pune).
According to the complainant, an intermediary instructed him to provide Rs 18 lakhs, promising that Bhondu Baba would miraculously turn it into 5 crores. Acting on the instructions, he handed it over during a ritual conducted by the self-proclaimed godman. However, the situation took a dramatic turn when some individuals came there pretending to be policemen and decamped with the money bag.
The incident came to light when he approached Hadapsar police station. Police have registered an FIR for offences under sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Shelke is further investigating the case.
