Pune: Bharat Gas Tanker Overturns Near Loni Kand, Gas Leak Raise Concerns In Area
Pune 30th Sept 2023: A gas tanker of Bharat Gas company was overturned in the wee hours in Loni Kand area on Saturday. The police officials and other rescue teams were immediately rushed to the spot as the tanker was filled and the gas had started leaking. The incident was reported at around 2 am.
According to officials, the tanker overturned near Magar Wasti in the Loni Kand area. The gas had started leaking slowly due to which the officials called another tanker to the spot to refill the gas and the process is likely to take a few hours. Meanwhile, the traffic movement on the road was diverted to avoid any untoward incident and different checkpoints were created by the police.
The safety manager of the Bharat Gas and fire brigade team was called to the spot and the power supply of high tension lines above the spot was disrupted by the MSEB officials following a request by the local police. The residents in the locality were instructed to take necessary safety precautions, said officials.
