Pune: Baramati Youth Beaten to Death While Meeting Love Interest; Case Registered With Bibwewadi Police

Bibwewadi, 23rd March 2024: An incident has surfaced involving the brutal beating to death of a young man who had travelled from Baramati to meet his girlfriend. Identified as Sangram Hanumant Salunke, aged 22 and a resident of Baramati, the victim fell prey to this violence. Bibwewadi Police have taken action by registering a murder case against five individuals, including two minors.

The complaint, filed by Police Sub-Inspector Shashank Jadhav at the Bibwewadi Police Station, has led to the registration of the case against two minor suspects, along with Nitin Renuse, Aditya Gawli, and Aniket Chavan.

Investigations reveal that Sangram was acquainted with a woman from the Ambegaon Pathar area, with whom he had developed a romantic relationship. It was reported that Renuse received information about Sangram’s visit to the Bibwewadi area to meet his girlfriend.

On December 2, Sangram arrived near a servicing centre on Satara Road in Bibwewadi, where he was forcibly taken by the accused on a two-wheeler to a location near a gas godown in the Upper Indira Nagar area. There, he was subjected to a brutal assault, resulting in severe injuries. Prompt police intervention ensued upon receiving information about the incident. Sangram was rushed to the hospital, where despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

Medical examinations revealed the extent of the injuries sustained during the assault, leading to the escalation of the case from one of sudden death to that of murder. Bibwewadi Police are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
