Pune: Baramati Man Kidnaps Minor in Retaliation for Wife’s Abduction, Arrested in Sangli

Baramati, 10th July 2024: In a bizarre turn of events, a man from Baramati kidnapped the minor brother of his wife’s alleged kidnapper in retaliation for his wife’s abduction. This incident, which led to the arrest of the man, unfolded when he threatened, “Unless you release my wife, I won’t release your brother.” The Baramati City Police registered a case on July 8th and promptly launched a search operation.

To track down the accused, the Baramati Police formed two teams. The suspect attempted to evade capture by frequently changing locations. However, through technical investigation, the Baramati Police apprehended the accused in Khanapur town of Sangli District and successfully rescued the kidnapped boy.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Jadhav, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sudarshan Rathod. The team included Local Crime Branch (LCB) Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar, Baramati City Police Inspector Santosh Gholve, Assistant Police Inspectors Gajanan Cheke and Kuldeep Sankpal, Police Sub-Inspector Yuvraj Ghodake, and Police Constables Yashwant Pawar, Mohammad Anjar Momin, and Ankush Dalvi.

The swift action by the Baramati Police has been praised for its efficiency and effectiveness in resolving the situation and ensuring the safety of the kidnapped minor.
