Pune: Ban On Sale Of Meat And Fish In Dehu From Today, Police Action Against Violators

Dehu Road, 1st April 2022: The town of Dehu has once again banned the sale of meat and fish from today. A resolution in this regard was passed in the general meeting of the Nagar Panchayat (municipal council).

 

Earlier, meat and fish were banned in Dehu Gram Panchayat. However, when the midterm elections began and an administrator was appointed, the sale of meat and fish was in full swing in Dehu.

 

However, now that the Gram Panchayat has been transformed into a Nagar Panchayat, the decision to ban meat and fish has been taken by a unanimous vote. Police action would be taken against the person concerned if the rules were not followed, said Dehu municipal council chief Prashant Jadhav.

 

Dehu is a famous religious place associated with the medieval Sant Tukaram who was a devotee of Vithoba and preached Bhakti.

 

Meat and fish were banned in Dehu town. But as soon as the Nagar Panchayat elections came, the administrators were appointed, and the sale of meat and fish was seen in Dehu during the Corona period. Nagar Panchayat elections have just been held and in the general body meeting held in the month of February, a resolution was passed unanimously to ban meat and fish sale in Dehu Nagar Panchayat limits.
