Pune: Army’s Southern Command To Provide Internship To SIMS Students In Emerging Fields – Lt Gen J S Nain
Pune, 22nd August 2022: “Our country has made remarkable growth in the last 75 years. All the sectors including Government, Semi- Government, Private, Other Bodies, Educational Institutions, Armed Forces have contributed significantly in Nation Building. Apart from maintaining Peace Armed Forces have also contributed in welfare projects in remote areas, during tsunami, floods etc. contributed in NCC and related activities, played a role in nuclear tests at Pokhran, said Lt. Gen. J S Nain, GOC-in-C Southern Command.
Lt Gen Nain was invited as the Chief Guest for the felicitation ceremony to honor illustrious and renowned Lt Generals and equivalent in Navy and Air Force organized by Symbiosis at Symbiosis Vishwabhavan Auditorium, Senapati Bapat Road Campus, Pune.
Lt Gen Nain in his speech told the students that you are the future. You are the custodians of our legacy. He gave valuable advice in his speech, he said to the students to have the courage to speak up your mind. When the opportunity comes grab it and make the most out of it. There will be times in your life when you will be tested hard but never ever compensate for your morals, principles in life. Develop an art of reading. Think out of the box. Always retain your originality. Think like an eagle and have fun. Have a big dream in life and work hard to achieve your dream. Aim for the moon and you will land up amongst the stars. Compete with yourself and not with others. Beat your own record every day. Be a good human being. Having a big heart is an extremely important thing in life. Always keep the child alive in you. Always put an ornament – A “Smile” which is a booster for everyone around you.
Lt Gen Nain in his speech made an announcement for the SIMS students that they will get an Internship with “Southern Command” in the emerging fields like Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Space, Quantum Computing etc. students can approach us for the Internships and the cost will be borne by us.
Lt Gen Pandit in his acceptance speech said that the Golden Jubilee is a very major landmark for any Institution. Symbiosis has done a tremendous job in the field of education. Dr. Mujumdar is a “Tiger” of Symbiosis and hence he must get a “Lion’s Share” of credit for his immense contributions. Dr. Mujumdar always has a soft corner for Defense People and Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) is the live example of it.
Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Founder and President Symbiosis and Chancellor, Symbiosis International University in his presidential address said, “I am lucky that I have witnessed the first Independence Day of our country and also the Amrit Mahotsav”. Many things have changed during these 75 years. People thought that after independence India will not progress due to the lack of governance but we have proved them wrong. Many good things have already happened in this country and some yet to happen.
Education is the only way to make India a developed country. Colleges and Universities must have to play a major role in nation building. Culture and Education must go together; they have a Symbiotic Relationship Dr. Mujumdar added further.
Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director Symbiosis and Pro- Chancellor, Symbiosis International University gave Welcome Address. Dr. Rajani Gupte, Vice- Chancellor, Symbiosis International University gave Vote of Thanks and Brig. (Dr.) Rajiv Divekar, Director, Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) was the Anchor of the program.
