Wanowrie, 1st April 2024: The Pune city police have initiated an investigation following a complaint filed by an army officer, accusing four employees of a movers and packers company in Chikhali of criminal breach of trust after they failed to adequately compensate him for damages incurred to his vehicle.

The 35-year-old army officer, residing on NIBM Road and originally from Kerala, had sold his car and sought to transport it to Kerala. In November last year, he engaged the services of the aforementioned company for this purpose. However, instead of utilizing a container truck for transportation, a company driver opted to drive the car to Kerala.

However, the vehicle met with an accident near Murdeshwar in Karnataka on November 8, resulting in substantial damages.

Senior Inspector Sanjay Patange of the Wanowrie police station revealed, “A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered at Manki police station in Karnataka. Despite assurances from company officials to compensate the army officer with Rs 4 lakh, only Rs 2 lakh has been disbursed to him over the course of three months.”
