Pune: Anti-Gunda Squad Nabs Trio Involved in Trailer Driver’s Murder Within 48 Hours

Pimpri, 3rd December 2023: In a swift operation, the Anti-Gunda Squad of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police commissionerate apprehended three suspects within 48 hours in connection with the murder of a trailer driver. The victim, identified as Amol Vikas Pawar, was beaten to death while attempting to steal another trailer. The arrested individuals, all trailer drivers, have been named as Dashrath alias Sonu Jairam Adsul, Vishnu Angad Raut, and Baliram Vasant Jamdade.

The incident unfolded in the jurisdiction of the Mahalunge Police Station, where Amol Pawar’s lifeless body was discovered naked on Wednesday. The police initiated an investigation, and Inspector Harish Mane of the Anti-Gunda Squad took charge of locating the culprits. Amol’s distinctive tattoo with the word ‘Banjara’ (Nomad) led to the identification of the victim, who was reported missing at the Nigdi Police Station.

During the probe, the Anti-Gunda Squad reviewed CCTV footage, revealing that Amol entered a trailer attempting to steal it. Learning of this, a confrontation erupted between Amol and the accused trailer drivers, resulting in serious injuries and ultimately Amol’s demise. Subsequently, the trio fled towards Mumbai with a trailer. However, under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey, Upper Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Swapna Gore, Assistant Commissioner of Police Satish Mane, and Balasaheb Kopner, the anti-gang squad efficiently located and apprehended the suspects.
