Pune: Another Woman Jumps into Indrayani River in Alandi, Search Underway

Alandi, 29th August 2024: The incident of a woman police constable dying by suicide after jumping into the Indrayani River in Alandi occurred four days ago. Her body was discovered yesterday morning, three days later. This morning, another woman jumped into the Indrayani River.

According to Senior Police Inspector Bhima Narke of the Alandi Police Station, the woman jumped into the river around 6 AM from the bridge near the PMPML bus stop in Alandi. Upon receiving information about the incident, the Alandi police rushed to the scene and called the fire brigade and rescue teams.

The woman who jumped into the river has not yet been identified, and the search for her is ongoing.

On 25th August, a woman police constable jumped into the Indrayani River from a bridge in the Alandi area. Following this, various teams searched for her for three consecutive days. Her body was finally found at Golegaon, about ten kilometres from Alandi. While the Alandi police breathed a sigh of relief after this discovery, another woman jumped into the Indrayani River the very next day. Police and rescue teams are currently searching for this new missing woman.
