Pune: AMSB Seminar Explores Future Military Applications of Human Machine Teaming

Pune, 15th December 2023: A two-days Army Management Studies Board (AMSB) Seminar on Human Machine Teaming’ was held at College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune on 13 & 14 December 2023 with an aim to explicate military applications of Human Machine Teaming (HMT) in the present and future Indian security construct and recommend a road map for exploitation of HMT by the Indian Army (IA) in synergy with Government policy initiatives, R&D and capacity building of Defence Industry.

The two days seminar was conducted over three themes. The lectures on the themes and sub themes were delivered by eminent speakers and subject matter experts. The opening theme of ‘Explicating HMT and its impact on Future Military Operations’ encompassed technical concepts related to HMT in the military domain, understanding how modern Armies are integrating HMT into their war fighting capability and gauge future developments in this field. The second theme of the event was ‘Gazing into the Crystal Ball – Future Concepts and Application’ which included application in Combat, Combat Support Arms and Operational Logistics. The final Theme was ‘Capability Building and Road Map for Indian Defence Ecosystem’ which included Government policy initiatives which are required to be taken and to vector Defence R & D and Defence Industry to synergise efforts with future military requirements.

The seminar was conducted in Hybrid mode to achieve wider participation and was attended by senior hierarchy from the three Services, Formations, Units, Training establishments including IITs & NITs and civilian dignitaries including eminent personalities of national repute from related fields.
