Pune, 27th August 2022: As per the instructions of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the senior officials of the district visited the Chandni Chowk area in the morning and took information about the traffic problem, causes of traffic jams and ongoing works. It was decided at this time to demolish the old bridge in the area and speed up the road lane work in the next 15 days.

On the way to Satara on Friday CM Shinde was caught in traffic jam for more than 15 minutes. Local travellers informed Shinde about the traffic jams caused by the flyover work being carried out by the National Highway Authority at Chandni Chowk. Shinde took immediate notice and directed the senior officials of all the concerned establishments to inspect the traffic congestion at this place and solve the problem of the passengers.

Accordingly, after visiting the Chandni Chowk area, a meeting was held at the office of the National Highway Authority to solve the problem of traffic congestion.

Regarding the medical school site, a request will be made by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to appoint a special counsel in the Supreme Court to cancel the stay order, so that the space for the service lane can be made available. According to the instructions of the High Court, 270 sq. meters of the 548 sq. meters in the Sringeri Math area will be taken over after September 1, which will help in the opening of the service road.

Heavy traffic coming into Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad cities will be controlled at the border of both the police commissionerates between 8.00 am to 11.00 am and 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm till September 30, to help relieve additional pressure on traffic in the city.

Asphalting work at Chandni Chowk on Mulshi to Satara road will be completed in the next 7 days and this road will be opened for traffic. This will help reduce the pressure on traffic in Pune city.

For the repair of the road in front of the medical school, the repair work will be done in 4 days after discussion with the concerned parties. It was said at this time that the work of filling the potholes on the road will be done in two days.
