Pune: AFMC Pune Hosts Workshop on Health Technology Assessment for Healthcare Professionals
Wanowrie, 11th September 2023: The Department of Community Medicine, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune is conducting a workshop on Health Technology Assessment on 11 and 12 Sep 2023, under the stewardship of Chief patron Lt Gen Narendra Kotwal, Director and Commandant, AFMC.
The workshop offers specialized training and educational sessions to professionals from diverse specialties including policymakers, program managers, public health specialists, clinicians, researchers and academia, of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), NIV, NARI and local medical colleges of Pune. It focuses specifically on the concept and domains of Health Technology Assessment (HTA), recent advancements in the field and its role in policy making in Health care. The workshop is being co-hosted by ICMR NIV HTA Centre of Pune and partnered with DRDO.
The event features acclaimed plenary speakers, including Maj Gen Atul Kotwal, SM, VSM (Retd), Executive Director of NHSRC, Dr. Akshay Jain, Joint Director of the National Health Authority, and Maj Gen Punit Yadav (Retd), Professor at the International Institute of Health Management Research. Maj Gen D Vivekanand, Dean and Dy Comdt, AFMC chaired and steered the Plenary sessions on day one of the event.
Over the course of the two-day event, the attendees will acquire valuable insights into Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and its pivotal role in shaping the foundations of healthcare on a global scale as well as within our nation’s healthcare landscape.
