Pune: Acid Attack Leaves Wife Severely Injured, Husband on the Run
Hadapsar, 2nd November 2023: In a gruesome incident in Bhekrai Nagar, Hadapsar, a man threw acid on his wife, Anita Srihari Narwate (31), due to the non-withdrawal of a police complaint lodged due to a domestic dispute. The incident was reported to the Hadapsar Police Station, with Anita’s husband, Srihari Babruvan Narwate, a 35-year-old resident of Kharosa, Ausa, Latur, accused in the case.
As per the information provided by the police, Anita and Srihari had married in 2017, but marital discord led to physical and mental abuse by her husband and his relatives. Anita had previously filed a complaint against her husband at the Latur police station regarding the domestic dispute.
Anita, working at a clinic in Hadapsar, was on duty during the night when suddenly Srihari arrived. He reportedly threw acid on Anita’s face and hands. The attack resulted in severe injuries to Anita, who is currently undergoing specialized medical treatment.
The police have sent out search teams to apprehend him. Assistant police inspector, Nanasaheb Jadhav, is conducting further investigation into the matter.
