The incident occurred following a birthday party in the Dhanori area of Vishrantwadi. Two friends of Kengar have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police constable Samadhan Anandrao Koli (44), originally from Jalgaon and currently residing in Bopodi, and his colleague Sanjog Shyam Shinde (35), both posted at Khadki police station, were patrolling the Bopodi area at midnight on Sunday. A speeding car struck their bike from behind near the Bopodi subway. Both policemen were injured, and Koli succumbed to his injuries before receiving treatment, causing significant distress within the police force.

Kengar (24), a resident of Bopodi, was arrested following the accident. After the crash, Kengar went home and slept, parking the car some distance from his house. Police later arrested Kengar’s friends, Rabin Athwal and Siddharth Lalbige, who were in the car with him.

The trio had been in the Dhanori area to celebrate a friend’s birthday, drinking on Porwal Road. Around 1 AM, Kengar and his friends left the party and headed back to Bopodi by car.
