Pune ACB Files Charges Against Former Deputy Director of Land Records for Corruption

Yerawda, 29th June 2024: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against the former Deputy Director of Land Records in Nagpur, Dadabhau Sonu Talpe, and his wife, Kalpana Dadabhau Talpe, for amassing wealth beyond their known sources of income.

The case was filed under Section 13 (1) (e) and Section 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as well as IPC Section 109, at Yerawda Police Station.

Dadabhau Sonu Talpe, 62, and his wife Kalpana Dadabhau Talpe, 58, both residents of Harmus Heritage, Yerawda, are accused of accumulating unaccounted assets. The complaint was lodged by ACB Police Inspector Pravin Nimbalkar, following an investigation triggered by a complaint received at the ACB office regarding the properties acquired by Talpe during his tenure as Deputy Director.

The ACB conducted an open investigation into the total assets, income, and expenditure of the Talpes. They were given multiple opportunities to provide evidence supporting the legitimacy of their assets but failed to do so.

The investigation revealed that while working in the Land Records Department, Dadabhau Talpe had illicitly earned Rs 28,52,541. It was also found that his wife, Kalpana, assisted him in acquiring these unaccounted assets. Additionally, it was mentioned that Talpe was encouraged to commit the crime.

Further investigation is being conducted by Police Inspector Shriram Shinde. This action was taken by the Pune unit of ACB under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe, Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Shital Janve, and DySP Nitin Jadhav.
