Pune: AAP Workers Detained In Pimpri Chinchwad Ahead Of HM Amit Shah’s Visit, Claim Party Officials

Pune 6th July 2023: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders from Pune have claimed that the members of their party were detained by the police in Pimpri Chinchwad ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the city on Sunday. The party officials claimed that the police called their colleagues to the police stations and they were kept detained there as the Home Minister was attending an event in the twin city.

 

It may be noted that Amit Shah who also holds the charge of Ministry of Cooperation is in the city today to inaugurate the digital portal of Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) office. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis are also scheduled to attend the event.

 

According to sources, the AAP workers were detained as the police were anticipating a protest by them against the Union Home Minister today over the Manipur issue.
