Pimpri Chinchwad, 10th April 2022: Three minor boys have been detained by Pimpri Chinchwad police for allegedly assaulting an Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader. They had also damaged a car.

Yashwant Shrimant Kamble (43), president of AAP’s social justice wing in Pimpri Chinchwad, has lodged a complaint in this regard with Bhosari police station.

According to the police, the incident took place around 1 pm in Fugewadi on Saturday. After a protest by AAP, Kamble was returning on his two-wheeler when the boys riding a bike came from behind and one of them hit him on the head with a chopper. Later, they damaged a car by throwing stones at it, said Senior Police Inspector Bhaskar Jadhav.

After the incident, Kamble was taken to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police detained the three minor boys and also seized the chopper used in the crime.

Though police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the attack, Kamble said that politicians are unhappy with AAP’s success and hence conspired to attack him.
