By reducing the summer and Diwali holidays, schools can adjust the holidays to festivals like Ganeshotsav or Christmas with the permission of the education authorities. Care should be taken that the total vacations in an academic year do not exceed 76 days. The working days of schools must be at least 230.

Two local holidays under the jurisdiction of the Principal are to be fixed and informed to the Education Officer. The schools must take the local holidays fixed for the district by the Collector and the public holidays announced by the government.
