Pune, 26 Feb 2023: Kehari Lal, a 68-year-old veteran of the Indian Air Force, today took part in a 10 km run to promote awareness about water conservation. His feat was particularly impressive given his age, and he managed to complete the run in less than 70 minutes. The Neerathon event, which he participated in, was organized by the Rotary Club of Pune Amanora to raise awareness about the importance of clean water and sustainable practices.

 

As a retired officer of the Indian Air Force, Kehari Lal has dedicated his life to serving his country. Even in his retirement, he continues to be an inspiration to others through his commitment to staying healthy and active. His participation in the Neerathon event is just one example of his dedication to promoting causes that are important to him.

Despite being diagnosed with hypothyroidism, undergoing stent implantations and surgeries, and being recommended knee replacements, Lal has chosen to fight back by transforming himself into a fitness freak.

 

He has been working out for more than 6 hours every day, including weight training, yoga, and walking/jogging for almost 25 km daily. His determination and commitment to staying healthy and active are truly inspiring, and they serve as an excellent example for people of all ages.

 

Speaking about the importance of water conservation, Lal said, “Subsequent generations are counting on us, and we must treat water as a necessity, not a luxury. Such marathons are a very nice way to spread awareness and keep people fit.” His words are a reminder that we all have a responsibility to care for our planet and our resources, and that promoting sustainable practices like water conservation is essential for the well-being of future generations.
