Pune: 50-Year-Old Peon Charged with Assaulting Minor in Special School in Pimpri Chinchwad
Nigdi, 20th July 2024: A shocking incident involving a peon sexually assaulting a mentally challenged schoolgirl has surfaced in Pimpri Chinchwad. A case has been registered against the 50-year-old peon. In addition to sexually assaulting the minor, he also showed her obscene videos. This incident occurred on Tuesday, July 16th, at a school in Nigdi.
A 38-year-old teacher from Chinchwad reported the incident to the Nigdi Police Station. The police have registered a case against the accused for offences under BNS Sections 64 (punishment for rape), 68 (sexual intercourse by a person in authority), and 75 (sexual harassment), along with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act of 2016, and The Protection of Civil Rights Act of 1955.
According to police reports, on Tuesday, the accused peon took the girl into a passage outside the ladies’ bathroom, where he showed her obscene videos. He allegedly threatened her and pulled her close, touching her inappropriately. The complaint states that he also forced her into intercourse multiple times and these instances have been going on since 2022.
Senior Police Inspector Shatraghan Mali from Nigdi Police Station is further investigating this matter.
