Pune : 49-Year-Old Man Hit By PMPML Bus From Behind In Wagholi, Dies At Hospital
Pune 26th August 2023: In yet another incident of accident reported with the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), a 49-year-old man died after he was hit by a bus on the Pune-Ahmednagar Highway. The incident took place at around 10:45 am on August 24.
According to the complaint registered with police, the deceased identified as Salim Imam Tamboli (49), a resident of Patil Wasti area of Kesnand was travelling on his bike when he was hit by a PMPML bus from behind. Tamboli sustained serious injuries in the accident and was declared dead by doctors at the hospital.
A case in this regard has been registered at LoniKand police station against the PMPML driver under sections 279, 304 (a), 337 and 338 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with section 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
It may be noted that there has been an increase in the fatal accidents reported with PMPML buses despite a warning of strict action against drivers by the PMPML top officials. A biker had died in a collision with PMPML in BRT lane near Sangvi Phata on August 19. In another incident, a 38-year-old lab technician died after the PMPML bus jumped a signal on Pune-Satara Road and hit the deceased travelling on bike.
