Pune: 3rd Father Schoch Memorial Inter-School Hockey Tournament 2012

Pune, 3rd December: St. Patrick’s H.S and PCMC School came out on tops in the boys section winning a title each after mixed luck in the 3rd Father Schoch Memorial Inter-School Hockey Tournament 2012 at the Maj. Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri.

The tournament is conducted by the Ex Loyola Students Network (ELAM) and Loyola High School under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra .

The Under-12 Boys final had St. Patrick’s H.S fight off the challenge from Loyola H.S ‘A’ H.S 3-2 via the shoot-out after playing out a goalless draw (0-0) at the end of the match.

In the shoot-out, St. Patrick’s H.S converted three attempts via Joel Patekar, Arnon B, Shaurya Menge, while Loyola H.S logged three unsuccessful attempts after Aarar Joshi, Ishan Shelar and Rajveer Shinde failed in their attempts.

Later in the Under-14 Boys final, PCMC School had it easy registering a 3-0 victory over St. Patrick’s H.S. A goal each by Pratik Sutar (22nd) and Pratham Patil (47th) put the winners in the lead at half-time. In the second-half, Ali Shaikh (59th) converted a penalty corner to complete the tally.

The prizes were given away by Father Anish, Principal Loyola H.S, Father Nelton, Manoj Walvekar, President ELAN, Manoj Bhore, Senior Vice President Hockey Maharashtra in the presence of Nitin Joshi, Leno John.

III-Place: Col Bhagat School: 2 (Kartik Pillay 5th, Chelnya Athawale 28th) bt Loyola H.S. 0. HT: 2-0
