Pune: 22-Year-Old Youth Takes His Life, Leaves Note on Maratha Reservation

Alandi, 4th November 2023: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old youth allegedly died by suicide, leaving behind a note addressing the critical issue of Maratha reservation.

 

The deceased Siddhesh Satyawan Barge, a resident of Chimbli in Alandi. The incident took place on Friday night at his gas shop, located in front of his residence.

 

His brother Suyash, became concerned when Siddhesh did not return home. Later he was found hanging inside the shop. Family members immediately informed the police, who arrived at the scene and rushed Siddhesh to Rural Hospital, Alandi. However, he was declared brought dead.

 

According to Alandi Police, a note has been recovered which states, “I have given my life not due to anyone but due to the functioning of this government. Maratha reservation must be given. I am taking this step for the sake of the Maratha brothers.”

 

It is the second such case in the region within the last fifteen days, with the previous incident involving former Sarpanch of Latur, Venkat Narsingh Dhopre, who took his own life by jumping into the Indrayani river.
