Pune: 21 Pimpri Chinchwad Officers Receive Maharashtra Police Special Service Medal

Pimpri Chinchwad, 14th August 2024: On the eve of India’s 78th Independence Day, Director General of Police (DGP) Rashmi Shukla announced the recipients of the Maharashtra Police Special Service Medal, honoring a total of 1,148 police officers. Among them, 21 officers from Pimpri Chinchwad, including two Police Inspectors, 18 Police Sub-Inspectors, and one Constable, have been awarded this prestigious medal.

The Special Service Medal is presented annually by the Director General of Police to recognize officers for their outstanding efforts in effectively curbing the violent and illegal activities of Naxalites.

Senior Police Inspector Tejaswini Kadam of Shirgaon Police Station, who served in a Naxal-affected area for three and a half years, has been honored with this medal. Similarly, Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Bansode of Sangvi Police Station, who served in Gondia, has also been awarded the medal.

The other recipients from Pimpri Chinchwad include Police Sub-Inspectors Sagar Devkar, Mahesh Satpute, Milind Kumbhar, Ganesh Aatwe, Vitthal Suryawanshi, Sohan Dhotre, Balaji Mete, Santosh Jaybhaye, Shrikishan Shinde, Dattatraya Sukale, Shrikant Gurav, Mahadev Bhalerao, Aaba Katpale, Rahul Dudhmal, Laxman Mogale, and Anil Tarphe, along with Police Constable Yogeshwar Kolekar. These officers have all been recognized for their special service.
