Chakan, 7th September 2021: A 16-year-old boy was kidnapped by a young man along with six of his accomplices for allegedly molesting his sister. He was then beaten with bats, iron rods and hit by stone to death.
The incident took place at Chakan on Monday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Rohit Prabhu Sahni (16). Rohit’s mother (32) has lodged a complaint with Chakan Police Station under the Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate.
A case has been registered against Arafat Wajib Shikilkar, Yusuf Arshad Kakar (20), Karan Pabele, Hujeb Asif Kakar, Nihal Inamdar, Mansoor Inamdar, Sohel Inamdar, all residents of Chakan.
According to police, Rohit allegedly molested Yusuf’s sister. Out of anger, the accused kidnapped Rohit on a two-wheeler in front of a hotel in Chakan around 1 pm on Monday. He was taken to the open field in front of Chakan Market Yard. All the accused assaulted Rohit with an iron rod, stone resulting in his death. Police have arrested the accused persons.
Police Inspector Anil Devde is investigating the case further.
