Pune: 10-Year-Old Girl Sexually Assaulted in Khadakwasla; 68-Year-Old Accused Arrested
Khadakwasla, 26th August 2024: A 68-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in the Khadakwasla area.
In the wake of the Badlapur incident, a school in Khadakwasla organized a program to educate students about the ‘Good Touch, Bad Touch’. The program aimed to sensitize the girls, during which a 10-year-old girl opened up about her experiences.
According to the police, the victim was on her way to school around 11 AM on Friday (23rd August). At that time, the accused lured her into a nearby room by pretending to offer her food and treats, where he sexually assaulted her. The victim did not inform anyone at home about the incident.
The following day, when she returned to school, the ‘Good Touch, Bad Touch’ program was being conducted. During the session, the teacher interacted with each girl. It was during this interaction that the victim disclosed her experience to the teacher, leading to a complaint being filed against the accused at the Haveli Police Station, Pune rural police. The accused has since been arrested, and the Haveli Police are conducting a further investigation.
