Pune: 10-Year-Old Boy Fatally Hit by Car in Pimpri Chinchwad; Driver Arrested

Pimpri Chinchwad, 4th July 2024: A 10-year-old boy lost his life in a recent accident in Pimpri Chinchwad when he was hit by a vehicle while crossing a square. This incident adds to a concerning trend of accidents in the area, with four fatalities reported in separate incidents over the past week alone. The boy, identified as Mohammad Afzal Khan from Kudalwadi, Chikhali, died on the evening of Tuesday (2nd July).

His father, Kamal Ahmed Manjur Ali Khan, filed a complaint with the Chikhali Police Station, leading to the arrest of Vikram Dadabhau Kasabe, a resident of Pimple Saudagar. Kasabe faces charges under sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 106 (1) (causing death by negligence), 125 (B) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when Mohammad was crossing the road at More Patil Chowk. He was struck by a speeding car, resulting in fatal injuries as the vehicle ran over his head. Police Sub Inspector Devkar from Chikhali Police Station is continuing the investigation.

Other recent accidents in Pimpri Chinchwad include:
– An unidentified person was fatally injured under the jurisdiction of Hinjawadi Police Station on 2nd July. The case is under investigation.
– Pradeep Tulsidas More lost his life in another incident under the jurisdiction of Hinjawadi Police Station when an unidentified speeding car collided with his two-wheeler. Tejas Kumar Ramakant Jadhav filed a complaint, and investigations are ongoing.
– Sudhanshu Dayashankar Mishra, aged 24, was killed in a tanker accident under Dehu Road Police Station’s jurisdiction. Rajesh Tiwary filed a complaint against Satish Ram Sevak Singh for driving the tanker recklessly.
– Surendra Kumar Ram Akbal, aged 26, was fatally injured, and Kapil Patel sustained injuries when a speeding car hit their two-wheeler under MIDC Bhosari Police Station’s jurisdiction. Rajendra Ram Akbal filed a complaint, and investigations are ongoing.
