Pune: 10-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Kasarsai Dam During Outing with Aunt

Hinjawadi, 6th May 2023: A 10-year-old boy drowned in the Kasarsai dam in Maval on Saturday.

The deceased Adarsh Santosh Gaikwad was visiting the area with his aunt, Pallavi Salve, when the incident occurred. While they were playing in the water, Adarsh drowned, as the depth of the water was not estimated.

Pallavi immediately reported the incident to the Shirgaon Parandavadi police station. The Sub-Inspector of Police, B.C. Gavit, Constable John Pathare, and Police Naik P.M. Khedkar rushed to the spot to investigate the incident.

Several lifeguards from the Maval Institute of Wildlife Protection and Shivdurg Mitra Lonavla, including Nilesh Garade, Bhaskar Mali, Avinash Karle, Vinay Sawant, and Anish Garade, conducted a search operation to locate Adarsh, who was submerged in the water. Unfortunately, Adarsh was pulled out and declared dead before receiving any treatment.
