Pulotsav to celebrate Pu La Deshpande’s 100th Birth Anniversary
Pune, 8 June, 2018: To mark Pu la’s death anniversary, Aashay Sanskrutik will screen a documentary “ya sama ha” based on the renowned humorist P L Deshpande on June 12th at Balgandharva Rang Mandir at 5.30 PM. The documentary screening is a part of a series of programs planned across 30 cities around the country as well as the world as Deshpande’s birth centenary year will be celebrated from November 8, 2018 – November 8, 2019 shared Virendra Chitrav of Ashay Sanskrutik while addressing the press conference on Thursday.
The documentary has been directed by Sudhir Moghe and Mukta Rajadhyaksha with cinematography by Debu Deodhar. A seminar illustrating the multi-faceted personality of Pu La has also been planned. At the seminar, music director Salil Kulkarni, actor Madhav Vaze, Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad’s Milind Joshi and social activist Anil Awchat will speak about Pu La’s contribution to music, theatre, literature and social initiatives.
Noted author Da Ma Mirasdar will chair the seminar and speak on Pu La as a humorist. Pu La’s nephew Dinesh Thakur and his wife Jyoti will represent the Deshpande family at the event.
Parchure Prakashan will release a book titled ‘Kasa Mee Asa Mee’ comprising Pu La’s speeches and publish articles. The book will be released by Mayor Mukta Tilak.
