Pune, 27 June 2024: The Bombay High Court today directed the Pune Collector to pass orders expeditiously, or within two weeks at the latest, regarding the suspended liquor licenses of Pune’s 2BHK Diner & Key Club. This directive follows a writ filed by the establishment’s owner, Dr. Heramb Shelke.

The Collector’s decision to temporarily suspend the licenses was made in the context of the Pune Porsche accident case. This move had led to substantial financial losses for the restaurant and bar, prompting multiple appeals to the authorities from Pune restaurateurs. Various protests were organized by owners, staff, and vendors to highlight the detrimental effects of this decision. Despite these appeals, the Collector had hesitated to revoke the suspensions.

Taking proactive steps, 2BHK filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking resolution. The High Court’s ruling brings a sigh of relief to Dr. Shelke, bar owners, and numerous individuals impacted directly and indirectly by the license suspensions.

Dr. Shelke expressed gratitude to the High Court for expediting the case and reiterated their commitment to operating within legal boundaries and prohibiting any illegal activities on their premises. This decision is expected to positively impact the operations and livelihoods of all associated with these establishments.
