Colombo, 9th July: Protesters have once again taken to the streets in Sri Lanka. The situation has become so bad that the protesters have even taken control of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. On Saturday, protesters took to the streets in several other cities including the capital Colombo. Among the protesters was former Sri Lankan captain Sanath Jayasuriya.

Jayasuriya himself posted a photo with the protesters on Twitter. He wrote in the caption, “I always stand with the people of Sri Lanka. And soon I will celebrate the victory. It should be continued without any violation.”

The protesters also moved closer to the ongoing Test match between Sri Lanka and Australia in Galle. Protesters started waving posters outside and inside the stadium. The protesters also climbed a fort near the stadium in Galle. However, this did not affect the match and the game went on smoothly between the two teams. Apart from Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara also extended his support to the protesters.
